Azerbaijani schoolchildren have secured first place among participants from 14 countries at the prestigious APRSAF-30 International Space Poster Competition held in Perth, Australia.
The results of the competition were announced during the 30th session of the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF), which took place from November 26 to 29, jointly organized by the Australian Space Agency and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
The International Space Poster Competition annually brings together more than 4,000 5th-9th grade schoolchildren from countries of the Asia-Pacific region, as well as from associate member countries.
This year, the national stage of the APRSAF-30 International Space Poster Competition was held with the organization of the Azercosmos’ SPACE Academy and the support of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education and the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In the national stage of the competition, 25 schoolchildren from general education institutions participated with artworks on the theme "Space Travel". As a result of the competition, three schoolchildren won the national phase and traveled to Australia.
A total of 1,712 schoolchildren took part in the competition from different countries, and 1,462 artworks were submitted. In the international stage of the competition, the three schoolchildren representing Azerbaijan were awarded three out of the five highest prizes, standing out among 33 participants. This victory can be considered as another achievement in the identification of talented Azerbaijani students, the development of their potential, and the representation of Azerbaijan in international Olympiads and competitions in fields such as information technologies and digital skills.
