International Space Olympiad
The International Space Olympiad, one of the most prestigious school-level events in the space field, has been held in Tel Aviv since 2000. Organized through the initiative of the Israel Space Agency and Ministry of Education, the Olympiad encourages young minds to explore the wonders of space. The competition consists of four stages, where participants showcase their knowledge in a hybrid format during regional and national finals. Competitors are grouped by age, and tasks are presented in multiple languages. With support from mentor teachers, students enhance their independent learning skills. The winning team will participate in the international finals in Tel Aviv in June 2025.
National Satellite Innovation Competition
In collaboration with the Brazilian Space Agency, "Ideia Space" presents the Azerbaijan Satellite Innovation Competition, where students design space missions using PocketQube pico-satellites. This competition is open to students in grades 7-10, encouraging intellectual growth through the exploration of real scientific data. Participants go through the stages of conceptualizing, designing, building, launching, and presenting their satellites. Around 500 students will gain skills in critical thinking, programming, and project management. Ultimately, the winning team will have the opportunity to launch their satellite into orbit aboard SpaceX's "Falcon 9" rocket.
International Space Poster Competition
The Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF) has been one of the most prestigious events in the space sector since 1993. Held annually in November-December, the forum brings together 844 organizations from 52 countries and 32 international institutions. Leading space agencies engage in discussions on topics such as disaster management and environmental protection. APRSAF also organizes a Space Poster Competition, with over 4,000 students from grades 5-9 participating. Following the 29th competition held in Indonesia in 2023, the 30th competition is scheduled for Australia in 2024. In Azerbaijan, the national stage will be held from October 2024 to May 2025.
