Sun outage occurs during Vernal Equinox (February & March) and Autumnal Equinox (August & September). At this time, the apparent path of the sun is directly behind the line of sight between the satellite and an earth station. This causes a significant increase in the temperature of the antenna that interferes with its normal operation. Depending on the geographic location of ground station it usually goes on several minutes. The occurrence of phenomena can be predicted using software provided below:
