Azercosmos participated in the panel session Space innovation: aligning business strategies with societal demands, pressing challenges and improve life on Earth held during the "Baku Investment Day" (Baku ID) event on June 27-28.
In this session, the Chairman of the Board of Azercosmos, Samaddin Asadov, Türkey's first astronaut and military pilot Alper Gezeravcı, and the advisor to the chairman of Slingshot Aerospace, a company specializing in space sustainability, security, and market research, Dana al-Salem, delivered speeches.
In his speech, Samaddin Asadov highlighted the impact of space activities and innovations on our planet, noting the contributions of space, which might seem distant at first glance, to solving problems on Earth. According to him, science and education are the main drivers of innovation. The Chairman of the Board emphasized the importance of joint activities among universities, research institutes, and private companies in the development of the space innovation ecosystem. They conduct research together, develop technologies, and train the next generation of scientists and engineers, said Samaddin Asadov. It was noted that Azercosmos continues its efforts in the development of the national space ecosystem in our country.
Other speakers also highlighted the ideas that space and related innovations can contribute to our daily lives and drew attention to startup ideas that could support achieving these results.
At the end of the panel discussion, an autograph session with Alper Gezeravcı was held for the event participants.
