The awarding ceremony of the national stage of the International Space Poster Competition was held

On December 13, Azercosmos’ SPACE Academy with the support of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education and the Education Institute of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted the awarding ceremony of the national stage of the International Space Poster Competition.


The achievements were presented within the framework of the event, and schoolchildren shared their impressions. At the end of the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented to the heads of extracurricular educational institutions, while schoolchildren who participated in the competition received gifts, awards, and certificates. 


The International Space Poster Competition annually brings together more than 4,000 5th-9th grade schoolchildren from Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF) countries and associate member countries on three stages. This year, the national stage of the competition was organized through the joint cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan and SPACE Academy. The national stage of the competition included opening and closing ceremonies, online plenary sessions, seminars, lectures, round tables, masterclasses, and most importantly, a poster exhibition. It took place in Azerbaijan in October, as part of the academic year 2024-2025.

 

At the national stage of the competition, 25 schoolchildren from general education institutions presented artworks on the theme of "Space Travel." The winners of this stage, 3 schoolchildren participated in the exhibition held in the city of Perth, Australia, as part of the 30th APRSAF session, where they were awarded high prizes at the international stage. Among the total 33 participants, Azerbaijani schoolchildren were awarded three top prizes: Best Poster of the Year Award, Special Poster Award, and Australian Space Agency Award. 


In total, 1,712 schoolchildren took part in the competition, and 1,462 artworks were submitted. 42 artworks were demonstrated at the exhibition, and a total of 5 prizes were presented to the winners. 3 of these awards were presented to Azerbaijani schoolchildren.
