Within the framework of the COP29 event, the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Azercosmos will hold the "Space challenges in the fight against climate change: Summit of Space Leaders". The Summit and Panel sessions will be held in the Blue Zone on November 16 – Digitalization Day of COP29 from 10:45 to 18:30.
Through the implementation of advanced technologies in remote sensing and GIS solutions, we meticulously track and analyse dynamic shifts in climate, providing valuable insights into environmental trends and their potential impacts. Our focus extends to specific areas, including monitoring water level changes in the Caspian Sea, assessing river qualities, monitoring ecologically vulnerable areas, and involving the analysis of the hydrosphere, lithosphere, and biosphere. Equipped with knowledge, expertise, and innovative ideas, we eagerly anticipate engaging in meaningful discussions during COP29 and aim to forge collaborative solutions for a sustainable future.
We utilise satellite technologies to assess the impact of global climate change in 4 directions - hydrosphere, lithosphere, biosphere, and cryosphere. The monitoring results are compiled in our Climate Report and serve to help tackle the pressing issues brought by this phenomenon.
