A meeting on "Climate Change and Space" was held with media representatives

A meeting on "Climate Change and Space" was held for media representatives through a joint initiative of Azercosmos and the Media Development Agency. The meeting, held on the eve of the National Press and Journalism Day, aimed to enlighten media representatives on how space technologies are used in the fight against climate change.

In his opening speech, Dunay Badirkhanov Vice-Chairman of Azercosmos, emphasized the special role of our press in informing the public about the country's activities in the space field. He spoke about the effective work of media representatives in raising public awareness about the International Astronautical Congress held in our country last year. Subsequently, Elshan Aghayev, Head of the Department of Media Entities and Journalists at the Media Development Agency, highlighted the historical development stages of national press and emphasized the invaluable role of the media in the development of Azerbaijan.

Following this, Murad Jamalov, Head of the Thematic Processing Unit of GIS Digitization Unit at Azercosmos, conducted a training for media representatives on the role of space in addressing the pressing issue of climate change. During the training, he discussed topics such as the process of obtaining satellite images, the solutions applied in this process, the capabilities provided by space technologies, and how we can adapt to climate change.

The event continued with an exhibition of images obtained from the Azersky satellite.
