Children of martyrs and veterans’ families have visited Türkiye's Gökmen Space and Aviation Training Center, organized by Azercosmos' S.P.A.C.E. Academy.
The goal of the project is to inspire students in the fields of technology, innovation, science, and entrepreneurship, while helping them develop their knowledge and skills in these areas.
During the program, the students participated in various simulations, including aerodynamic tests and learning about jet engine principles. They also took part in a creative workshop called "Protect the Pilot's Egg," designed to enhance problem-solving skills. Furthermore, they were introduced to rocket principles, fluid dynamics in microgravity conditions, and gained detailed insights into working in space, the International Space Station (ISS), and the “Dragon” capsule.
Through the "Docking" simulator, students experienced real-time space operations, and they practiced preparing astronaut menus. They also tested the conditions of real space using a VR microgravity simulator.
The visit included practical workshops on robotic arm training, first aid, dental fillings, and assembling astronaut tool kits. The students also explored the technical aspects of space missions by engaging with GeneLab and various other simulators.
In the following days, the students practiced fine motor skills while wearing space suits and learned about vegetable production systems and Türkiye’s first manned space mission.
This visit was supported and organized by Azercosmos, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the Turkish Space Agency (TUA), the Bursa Municipality, and the Gökmen Space and Aviation Training Center (GUHEM).
