A series of masterclasses were held by Türkiye’s first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, organized by the SPACE Academy of Azercosmos.
On April 24, 2025, during his visit to Azerbaijan, Alper Gezeravcı was a guest at the SPACE Academy of Azercosmos, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), and the National Aviation Academy. The visit took place within the framework of the Space Technologies Conference, hosted by Azercosmos.
Astronaut Gezeravcı shared his experiences with the flight captains, flight attendants, engineers, and navigation and aviation experts of AZAL, as well as students and faculty members of the National Aviation Academy, including those studying in the SABAH groups of higher education institutions. He gave a detailed presentation about the multi-phase and intensive training process he went through as part of Türkiye’s Astronaut Program, international collaborations, and the technical and psychological challenges of space travel.
During the event, Gezeravcı also touched upon the role of human willpower and commitment to goals in achieving success in life, encouraging young people to take an interest in science, technology, and space exploration.
Alper Gezeravcı’s speech was met with great interest by the seminar participants. At the end of the session, the astronaut answered questions from the young audience, took commemorative photos with them, and signed autographs.
